Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Principle Platform Engineer to join our team at Collins Aerospace. As a key member of our Digital Technology group, you will be responsible for the implementation and integration of hybrid-infrastructure software platforms, including Pivotal Cloud Foundry and AWS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high availability for all mission-critical software systems.
  • Identify and resolve system problems as a key contributor to our dynamic team.
  • Design or administer Identity and Access Lifecycle Management Operations and controls.

Requirements:

  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires minimum 5 years of platform engineering/support experience.
  • Three (3) years of experience developing and operating containerized services deployed in production on orchestration platforms such as Cloud Foundry or Kubernetes.
  • Developer platform services and APIs that scale in production.
  • Building and sustaining production services using Cloud Infrastructure Providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure; building and maintaining continuous delivery pipelines.
  • Requires prior experience working in a collaborative environment requiring frequent teaming and written/verbal communication with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience managing, reporting, and facilitating certification of access for all in-scope resources (including SaaS, AWS, Azure, CSS managed applications, tools, and systems).
  • Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date.

  • Prior experience deploying Platform as a Service (PaaS)
  • Automating platform management at enterprise scale.
  • Experience developing platform APIs that make common software operations scalable and repeatable.
  • Experience building continuous delivery and integration (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Experience responding to software outages and executing postmortem reviews including root cause analyses.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps concepts.
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Strong analytic and research skills - must be detail oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiency.
  • Requires the ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and vendors.
