Job Summary:
As a Medical Laboratory Technician at Essentia Health, you will play a critical role in assisting with the routine screening, diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases and injuries. Your expertise will be essential in performing and reporting tests of all complexity levels, as defined by CLIA, on patients of all ages. You will also be responsible for participating in Quality Assurance, Quality Control Monitoring, instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting, specimen processing, phlebotomy, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform and report tests of all complexity levels, as defined by CLIA, on patients of all ages
• Participate in Quality Assurance, Quality Control Monitoring, instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting, specimen processing, phlebotomy, and customer service
• Exhibit problem-solving skills of a complex nature
Requirements:
• Graduate of an associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or meets Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) guidelines for the complexity of laboratory testing for alternative routes
• Certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician through the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technologists (AMT), or National Credentialing Agency (NCA) or equivalent; within one year of hire
• Current license or provisional license through the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice within 45 days of hire or transfer (for North Dakota sites and Moorhead, MN)
Work Environment:
• Northern Pines Medical Center
• Day/Eve/Night Rotation (United States of America)
• Varies/Varies (Shift Start/End)
• 80 hours per pay period
• Compensation Range: $32.37/hour
• Union: Northern Pines Hospital UFCW Tech (NPTECH)
• FTE: 1
• Weekends: Yes
• Call Obligations: 1
