About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Surgeons and Anesthesiologists: Provide support to surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary instruments and equipment are available.
  • Prepare Operating Room: Prepare the operating room for each procedure, including setting up equipment and ensuring that all necessary supplies are available.
  • Pass Instruments and Supplies: Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon as needed, maintaining a sterile environment throughout the procedure.
  • Assist with Patient Care: Assist with patient care during and after surgery, including positioning patients and providing emotional support.
  • Maintain Aseptic Technique: Maintain aseptic technique throughout the procedure, ensuring that all necessary precautions are taken to prevent infection.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure that all necessary steps are taken to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Must have a Surgical Technologist Certificate within six (6) months of hire from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting OR National Center for Competency Testing Certificate - Technologist in Surgery within 6 months of hire from National Center for Competency Testing.
  • Experience: One (1) year of operating room or military equivalent experience in scrub role within the last two (2) years or recent completion of operating room training program.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to scrub all types of surgical cases except open heart, basic life support, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior Experience as First Assistant: Prior experience as First Assistant preferred.
