About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at TalentSphere Staffing Solutions. As a Construction Estimator, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and detailed cost estimates to potential clients, helping them understand the financial implications of their construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate the scope of construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment costs, permits, and other expenses.
- Interact with clients to understand their needs and preferences, and present cost estimates clearly and persuasively.
- Prepare detailed proposals or bids based on cost estimates, outlining the scope of work, timeline, costs, terms, and conditions for the construction project.
- Stay informed about current market trends, construction costs, and material prices to provide accurate and competitive estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and sales teams to ensure estimates are well-informed and complete.
- Use specialized software tools for accurate cost calculations, creating detailed take-offs, generating cost breakdowns, and creating visually appealing presentations for clients.
- Negotiate with clients and stakeholders to adjust estimates, costs, or project details to meet client budgets while maintaining company profitability.
- Meet proposal submission deadlines and client expectations, managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and changes in construction costs to provide accurate and competitive estimates.
- Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other team members to ensure cohesive and accurate estimates.
- Prior experience in construction estimating or related roles is highly valuable.
- Proficiency in using construction estimating software, such as Job Nimbus and Xactimate, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) software can aid in accurate quantity takeoffs and estimating.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and processes to accurately estimate costs.
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings to extract relevant information for estimating.
- Strong mathematical aptitude for performing complex calculations and conducting detailed cost analyses.
- Thoroughness and attention to detail are essential to ensure accurate estimates and avoid costly errors.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary for collaborating with clients, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to negotiate and communicate effectively during the bidding and contract negotiation phases.
- Capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficient in identifying potential issues or discrepancies in project plans and proposing solutions.
- Adherence to ethical practices and integrity when dealing with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other relevant software tools commonly used in construction estimating.
