Post-Conviction Relief Attorney

We're seeking a skilled Post-Conviction Relief Attorney to join our team at The Matian Firm, APC. As a key member of our criminal defense team, you'll work closely with our Supervising Attorney to handle post-conviction relief cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, and motions to reduce. Your expertise in immigration law is highly desirable, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on their legal rights and draft legal documents related to their cases
• Manage post-conviction relief cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, and motions to reduce
• Collaborate with our Post-Conviction Relief Team to handle client interactions and case management
• Attend motion hearings on behalf of clients and provide strategic advice
• Handle open criminal cases, including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas, and sentencing
• Manage court appearances, drafting motions, interviewing clients, and performing legal research
• Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents
• Manage workload of cases and provide legal analysis for clients

Qualifications

• Criminal defense experience or immigration law experience
• Experience handling criminal cases at the state and local level
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred, but not required
