IT Infrastructure Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team at George Fox University. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our technology infrastructure to meet the needs of students and employees.

• Design and implement servers and storage systems to support university infrastructure
• Assist the Director of IT Infrastructure with departmental planning, design, and implementation of technology infrastructure
• Manage software installations on servers supporting university infrastructure
• Research new and alternative technologies to ensure the department continues to move forward
• Assist in planning and implementing disaster recovery protocols
• Manage accounts, authentication tools, and file sharing
• Assist the security team to ensure our infrastructure is monitored and secured
• Provide support and troubleshooting for multiple systems used throughout the university
• Create and maintain technical documentation for university systems

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Experience working with virtualization, storage, and backup solutions
• Experience with Windows, Linux, and other operating systems
• Experience provisioning and managing file shares, databases, and user accounts
• Experience with configuring and maintaining Single Sign-On solutions
• Experience with security and monitoring systems
• Experience with disaster recovery procedures
• Ability to understand and program in various scripting languages
• Familiarity with network protocols
• Experience installing and maintaining open source software
• Working knowledge of networking and firewalls
