Key Responsibilities

The Culinary Service Associate embodies and demonstrates a work ethic that aligns with the mission, vision, and values of the organization, presenting a professional image in communication, appearance, and conduct. Engages in the continuous quality improvement (CQI) process by completing Quality Control forms and preventive maintenance logs. Maintains a thorough understanding of departmental standard operating procedures. This position may involve travel between various locations and affiliates.

Job assignments may include working in the dish room or, to a lesser extent, in retail, production, or catering, performing tasks such as general clean-up, dishwashing, trayline duties, transporting food to service areas, and waste removal. Must be able to follow instructions to uphold high standards of service and quality. Prevents waste by adhering to established standards for chemical use and reporting any observed misuse to a supervisor.

Additionally, the Culinary Service Associate may work in any area of the department, including retail, production, or catering, executing tasks such as portioning and serving food, transporting food to service areas, catering, busing dishes, managing supplies, and cashiering. Prepares food according to recipe specifications, minimizes food waste, and ensures proper care and sanitation of equipment and work areas, handling food in compliance with sanitary standards. Cash handling must be performed with accuracy and attention to detail. Contributes to positive customer relations, particularly regarding customer service, by ensuring high-quality service and adherence to sanitation standards. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by a supervisor.

Education and Experience

Required:

Ability to speak, read, and follow verbal instructions in English.

Preferred:

Prior experience in customer service and/or food service. Ability to perform basic calculations manually or with a calculator. Knowledge of food production and service. Capability to delegate tasks and maintain efficient operational standards. Exhibits effective communication, interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, knowledge of proper body mechanics, safety protocols, and infection control, along with the ability to follow instructions.
