About the Role

Holcim US, a leading supplier of quality construction building materials in the United States, has an immediate opening for a Roller Operator to support Asphalt Production Operations in Maryland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy rolling machinery to grade specifications for the construction of parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, and various other surfaces.
  • Distribute, break down, compress, and give a finished surface to cooling asphalt.
  • Unload tools, set up equipment, and prepare the work area.
  • Follow project instructions from the construction foreman and/or supervisor.
  • Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed.
  • Use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks.
  • Safely operate a variety of tools, including jackhammers, drills, saws, grinders, and torches.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of equipment and materials.
  • Safely and effectively operate machinery to complete assigned jobs, including skid steer, asphalt paver, and roller.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in manual labor or a related field.
  • Manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, good physical fitness, a good sense of balance, and an ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions without limitations.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
