Job Summary

NewtekOne, a leading financial holding company, is seeking a highly skilled Deposit Operations Specialist to join its team. As a key member of the back office, this role will be responsible for managing and overseeing various aspects of deposit-related transactions.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of banking regulations and procedures, as well as excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Key responsibilities will include maintaining a strong understanding of bank policies and regulatory compliance requirements, manual account opening, account maintenance, and certificate of deposit maturities.

The successful candidate will also have knowledge of banking software programs, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. A college degree from a two-year or four-year program and 2+ years of experience in the banking industry are preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a strong understanding of bank policies and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Manual account opening.
  • Account maintenance.
  • Set-up account sweeps.
  • Certificate of deposit maturities.
  • IRA maintenance.
  • Funds availability - placing exception holds.
  • Inactive, dormant, and escheated account reconciliations.
  • Garnishments.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in the banking industry.
  • General banking knowledge in deposit products.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
