Job Summary

The Arkansas Department of Health is seeking a skilled Calibration Technician to join our team. As a Calibration Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining specialized medical, computerized, and technical electronic equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement testing and calibration programs for instruments and equipment.
  • Disassemble and reassemble instruments and equipment, and inspect for defects.
  • Install, maintain, and perform preventative and corrective maintenance of test apparatus and peripheral equipment.
  • Maintain network of communications systems, including mobile and base radios and audio and visual equipment.
  • Write specifications for new equipment, develop proposals for new equipment, and submit to supervisor.
  • Select sensing, telemetering, and recording instrumentation and circuitry.
  • Create printed circuit artwork, test circuit designs, and transform design into workable printed circuit boards.
  • Conduct tests on performance and reliability of mechanical, structural, or electromechanical equipment.
  • Modify performance and operation of component parts and circuitry to specifications, using test equipment and precision instruments.
Requirements
  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus one year of specialized training in electronics or a related field; plus three years of experience in electronics or a related field.
  • Knowledge of vertical amplifier schematics, electronic circuitry components, and operations, maintenance, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to inspect, maintain, repair, and calibrate medical or specialized technical equipment.
  • Ability to operate test equipment, diagnose equipment failures from instruments and testing, and modify and fabricate instrumentation equipment.
