Russian/E EUR Linguist

Job Title: Russian/E EUR Linguist

We are seeking a highly skilled Russian/E EUR Linguist to join our team at FedSys. As a linguist, you will be responsible for providing translation, transcription, and interpretation services to support the US Interagency community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate complex texts from Russian/E EUR to English with high accuracy and nuance.
• Provide transcription services for audio materials, including complex or highly complex idiomatic speech.
• Interpret at virtually all levels, including complex or highly complex idiomatic speech, with a high degree of accuracy.
• Review audio materials, write/transcribe information from target language into English with a high-degree of accuracy and expression.

Requirements:

• Near native proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking in Russian/E EUR and English.
• Good understanding of regional dialects.
• Excellent computer skills, including MS applications and Internet research.
• Ability to review another linguist's work for accuracy of content and quality of written expression.

Security Requirements:

Candidate must be able to successfully pass a background and drug screening as a condition of employment. Currently, Linguists must possess and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Physical demands of the job include sitting, using hands and fingers to handle or feel, and occasionally standing, sitting, walking, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.

Work Environment:

The work environment is typical of an office environment, with moderate noise levels. Some travel may be expected in support of customers' needs.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree is required.
• Must have 5-10 or more years of professional work experience.
• Must be able to perform full range of activities as a linguist, including translation, transcription, and interpretation.
