We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter/Paramedic to join our team at Sumter County, FL. As a Firefighter/Paramedic, you will be responsible for responding to emergency calls, providing medical care, and fighting fires in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to emergency calls and provide medical care to patients
- Fight fires and perform rescue operations
- Operate emergency response vehicles and equipment
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of equipment and apparatus
- Participate in training sessions and stay up-to-date with the latest techniques and procedures
- Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma
- Valid Florida driver's license of the correct class for the vehicle driven and driving record acceptable to the insurance provider
- Certificate of Compliance (Florida Certified Firefighter II) as per Florida State Statute a)
- Florida Certified Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P) as per Florida State Statute 401.27
- Possession and maintenance of a current American Heart Association (or approved equivalent) CPR card; as well as ACLS card
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with exposure to noise, slippery surfaces, and uneven surfaces. The employee must be able to wear and function while wearing a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and fire protective clothing.
