Position Overview
The Senior Principal Engineer in Healthcare will play a pivotal role in enhancing our interoperability solutions while collaborating closely with health IT partners.

Key Responsibilities
1. **Enhance Interoperability Solutions**: Extend the existing interoperability framework to support IHE PCD profiles.
2. **Integration Development**: Broaden the scope and depth of integrations with Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and other health IT systems.
3. **System Integration**: Integrate software components into a cohesive and fully functional software system.
4. **Technical Leadership**: Provide guidance and hands-on implementation for the design and development of software applications within established medical product design controls.
5. **Testing and Quality Assurance**: Conduct various testing types including Unit, Integration, System, Performance, Load/Stress, and Regression.
6. **Collaboration**: Work with both internal and external teams to facilitate requirements gathering, design, prototyping, and other software engineering activities.
7. **Code Review**: Perform code reviews to ensure adherence to approved designs and standards.
8. **Process Improvement**: Collaborate with senior leadership to enhance software engineering process efficiency.
9. **Defect Resolution**: Lead efforts to resolve software defects and guide others in the resolution process.
10. **Mentorship**: Mentor and support junior staff in their professional development.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with relevant experience.
- Self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of managing issues independently.
- Experience with integration to major EHR vendors such as Cerner, Epic, or Meditech is advantageous.
- Familiarity with HL7 v2 and IHE profiles, particularly PCD profiles, is a plus.
- Proficient in Object-Oriented design patterns within multi-tiered architectures.
- Expertise in the .Net Framework and C# is essential.
- Strong knowledge of MS SQL relational databases and TSQL.
- Experience with automated testing methodologies is required.
- Comfortable with connectivity protocols such as TCP and HTTPS.
- Proven track record in software product development through the SDLC phases.
