About the Role- We are seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist with a minimum Associate degree in radiation therapy technology and certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiation therapy (RT(T)). A Bachelor's degree and Varian and Aria experience are highly desirable.
- You will be responsible for safely administering prescribed doses of radiation to patients, operating medical equipment used for radiotherapy, and ensuring that equipment is regularly maintained and in excellent working order.
- Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality patient care, collaborating with clinical oncologists and physicians to develop treatment plans, and educating patients about potential side effects and management strategies.
- Safely administer prescribed doses of radiation to patients, following principles of radiation protection and verifying treatment plans before implementation.
- Operate medical equipment used for radiotherapy, including administering radiation therapy and performing simulations as prescribed by a radiation oncologist.
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatment regimens, including radiation dosages, equipment settings, and patient reactions.
- Participate in departmental performance improvement activities, attending quality assurance rounds, therapy meetings, and educational in-services.
