Primary Responsibilities:
The Sports Visual Storyteller is tasked with crafting engaging visual narratives for the university's athletics platform, various digital channels, printed materials, and promotional content. This role involves capturing the essence of campus life, athletic events, and student-athlete portraits, all while exercising creativity and independent judgment.
Key Duties Include:
- Producing captivating multimedia narratives through photography.
- Documenting game days and significant athletic events.
- Reviewing and enhancing photos as necessary.
- Collaborating with the athletics media team to bolster social media initiatives and develop the university's visual identity.
- Providing prompt delivery of images for online platforms and media inquiries.
- Managing multiple projects efficiently while maintaining a positive demeanor under pressure.
- Staying updated on industry trends and sharing insights with team members.
- Embracing diversity and inclusion in all interactions and creative processes.
Qualifications:
Minimum: High School diploma or GED.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in film studies, videography, photography, or photojournalism.
Knowledge of photographic techniques, lighting, and a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of high-quality images are essential. The ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively is crucial.
Physical Requirements:
The role may involve prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting, along with repetitive hand motions. The ability to lift and carry items up to 25 lbs may be required.
Work Environment:
This position requires a flexible schedule to accommodate various events and activities.
