We are seeking a qualified Nuclear Medicine Specialist (NMS) for an immediate travel position. The ideal candidate should possess at least 1 year of relevant experience. Please review the additional qualifications below.

As an NMS, your primary responsibilities will include the preparation and administration of radiopharmaceutical agents to patients, followed by utilizing imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images. NMS professionals provide essential technical support to healthcare providers involved in patient diagnosis, care, and treatment, as well as to researchers exploring the applications of radioactive substances.

Key Responsibilities

As an NMS, you will be expected to:

  • Obtain necessary approvals and signatures from nuclear medicine physicians.
  • Assist in positioning and instructing patients for procedures.
  • Operate imaging devices such as scanners or gamma cameras.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals under the supervision of a radiologist.
  • Support patients throughout their procedures.
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff by adhering to safety and radiation disposal protocols.
  • Keep accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Utilize the McKesson PACS system effectively.
Qualifications

Applicants must have a minimum of 1 year of experience. Required certifications include BLS, NMT National certification from the AART or NMTCB, and any state-specific licenses as necessary.

NMS professionals should be capable of standing and walking for extended periods, as well as bending and stooping without difficulty. A solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology is essential.

Essential Requirements: ARRT (N), BLS, 2 Years

Note: Additional certifications may be required prior to commencing the assignment.

Compensation details are based on 8-hour shifts and a 40-hour work week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend to be determined.
