Wildland Firefighter EMT

**Job Details:** We are seeking an EMT Firefighter to join our team in the Massachusetts Military Division. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of $ 55,000 to $ 80,000 per year, depending on experience.

**Summary of Job Duties:** As an EMT Firefighter, you will be responsible for performing firefighting activities, including controlling and extinguishing fires, operating hose lines, making forced entries, and ventilating structures. You will also provide Emergency Medical Service at the Basic level, under the direction of the Wing Medical Director.

**Essential Functions:**

• Perform firefighting activities, including controlling and extinguishing fires, operating hose lines, making forced entries, and ventilating structures
• Use and maintain firefighting and medical equipment
• Inspect, maintain, and provide routine maintenance on fire equipment, power tools, portable fire extinguishers, and apparatus
• Provide Emergency Medical Service at the Basic level, under the direction of the Wing Medical Director

**Requirements:**

• Current and valid certification as a Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Hazardous Materials Operations, and First Responder issued by a National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualification Certifications or an equivalent certifier such as the Department of Defense (DOD) Certifications or International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC)
• Current and valid certification (Basic, Intermediate, or Paramedic) as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) issued by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and current certification as a C.P.R. Basic Rescuer by either the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association
• Ability to remain calm during stressful situations
• Ability to effectively communicate through verbal and written means
