The Travel Nurse RN role at Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center - Riverside is designed for skilled nursing professionals seeking to provide exceptional care in a dynamic environment. This position involves working in the Cardiovascular Intervention Department on a day shift schedule with on-call responsibilities.
Certification Requirements- Valid RN licensure in Illinois, issued by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
- Current certifications in CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Life Support (PALS).
- Successful completion of an EKG assessment prior to the end of the orientation period.
- Certification in the National Institute Healthcare Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
- Utilize the nursing process and critical thinking in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care.
- Conduct thorough assessments, develop care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established nursing protocols and state regulations.
- Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation in compliance with organizational standards.
- Develop and execute individualized patient care plans based on physician directives and hospital policies.
- Provide education to patients and families, tailored to their understanding and needs.
- Engage in performance improvement initiatives within the department, contributing to shared governance.
- Offer clinical expertise and support to other departments as needed to enhance patient care.
- Proactively address system inefficiencies and collaborate with colleagues to implement solutions.
- Prioritize patient safety and experience, effectively managing complex situations and delegating tasks appropriately.
- Communicate effectively with the chain of command as necessary.
- Foster a positive professional environment and contribute to organizational governance.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and support opportunities for continuous learning.
- Engage in peer review and feedback processes to enhance nursing practice.
- Maintain efficient patient flow in clinic and ambulatory settings, including telephone triage.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- A minimum of 3 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year in critical care.
- Experience in Cardiovascular Intervention is required.
This position requires a day shift schedule with on-call rotation, including weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
