We are seeking a Maritime Support Specialist to join our team at Kirby Corporation. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating communication between various departments, recording events, and preparing scheduled reports.
Responsibilities include answering incoming phone calls, attending daily meetings, reviewing traffic status, assigning primary vessel groups, confirming trip requirements, and coordinating horsepower requirements with Schedulers or Scheduling Managers.
The role also involves scheduling barges, sending vessel orders, coordinating fleet departures/arrivals, calculating ETAs on barges in Oasis, calling dock representatives to solicit status, tendering barges upon arrival, documenting trip information, and completing reports and written turnover plans.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate effectively with various departments
- Record events and prepare scheduled reports
- Coordinate barge preparation and vessel operations
- Schedule barges and send vessel orders
- Document trip information and complete reports
