Description

Michaels is seeking a skilled Framing Specialist to join our team in a retail store setting. As a key member of our framing department, you will be responsible for creating memorable solutions for our customers' artwork, while providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement company procedures and programs to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and adhere to company policies and standards.
  • Develop and deliver customized framing designs using the ABC model, to establish relationships with customers and create tailored solutions.
  • Process high-quality framing orders and deliver them on time.
  • Maintain the framing department's display area and other assigned areas by performing OSEM and directed re-stocking.
  • Provide courteous customer service, assist customers in finding products, and ensure merchandise is properly displayed and re-stocked to facilitate easy shopping.
  • Follow established procedures and company programs.
  • Support loss prevention and safety programs.
  • Interact with colleagues in a respectful and positive manner, promote company values and vision, and project a positive image.
  • Participate in truck unloading and storage processes to ensure delivery standards are met and budgets are respected.
  • Operate a cash register and handle cash according to company standards.
  • Welcoming customers, assisting them in finding products, and offering solutions.
  • Assist with omnicana processes.
Requirements
  • Basic computer skills and basic measuring skills.
  • Ability to operate framing equipment and glass cutter.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Retail experience.
  • Experience selling products and/or services to customers.
Physical Requirements
  • Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
  • Ability to move throughout the store.
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods.
  • Lifting heavy boxes and frames, and accessing high shelves using a ladder or similar equipment.

Work Environment
  • Public retail store setting, taking care of customers; all public areas are climate-controlled; some stock rooms may not be climate-controlled; some outdoor work if assigned to retrieve shopping carts or unload trucks; the frame shop contains a glass cutter and heat press; work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
