Job Overview

The Domestic Violence Relocation Specialist provides critical support and advocacy services to empower survivors of domestic violence to start a new life free from abuse. This role involves assessing the lethality of situations, developing safety plans, and connecting participants with essential resources and services. The Specialist builds and maintains relationships with local organizations, community agencies, and service providers to ensure a seamless transition from emergency shelter to a safe and stable home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess participant needs and develop individualized relocation plans
  • Collaborate with local organizations and service providers to secure housing, transportation, and other essential resources
  • Provide advocacy and support to participants throughout the relocation process
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to increase resources and services for participants

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree in human services or related field preferred
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and community-building skills
  • Experience providing advocacy to survivors of domestic violence and self-sufficiency resources preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills; Bilingual Spanish preferred

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours of work per week, with shifts potentially including evenings and weekends. Reliable transportation and a valid Florida driver's license are required. The successful candidate will be able to attend 30 hours of Domestic Violence Core Competency Training and additional training as directed by Serene Harbor and program funders.
