Position Overview:
Assumption University invites applications for a full-time position as a Professor of Practice in Clinical Counseling Psychology at the rank of Assistant Professor. This role is structured as a twelve-month faculty appointment, initially for a three-year term, with opportunities for renewal and advancement in rank. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in cognitive-behavioral therapy and demonstrate the capability to instruct courses within the Master of Arts program in Clinical Counseling Psychology. Teaching responsibilities may encompass graduate-level courses such as counseling principles, abnormal psychology, measurement principles, ethics, and cognitive-behavioral assessment for both children and adults. Additionally, there may be opportunities to teach undergraduate courses relevant to the candidate's area of expertise.
Expectations:
The successful applicant is expected to engage in institutional service and exhibit ongoing professional development within the field. Candidates must hold a doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology by the time of hire and be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the state of Massachusetts. Preference will be granted to those with prior university-level teaching experience and clinical expertise in delivering evidence-based interventions.
