Job Summary

The Lead Nursing Professional at Northern Light Health plays a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our medical surgical unit. As a seasoned nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine, you will be responsible for supervising other qualified staff, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and coordinating with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.

About This Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, ME. We offer a competitive salary range of $83,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Patient Care: Supervise and coordinate the delivery of patient care to assigned patients, including developing and implementing nursing care plans and coordinating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Lead and Develop Team Members: Lead and develop other qualified staff, providing guidance and support to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate and complete records of patient care, including documenting patient information, medications, and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive patient care and promote positive patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited nursing program.
  • License: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine.
  • Certification: National RN Certification and renewals required.
Work Environment

This position requires a BSN degree holder to work in a fast-paced medical environment, often dealing with difficult and stressful situations with professional composure. You may be required to work alternative shift schedules, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends. The ideal candidate should demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to support the staffing needs of patient care areas.
