Occupational Therapist - School Setting

We are currently seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team of dedicated educators in a school environment near Columbus, GA.

Position Overview

As an OT in a school setting, you will play a vital role in supporting students facing physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges. Your primary focus will be to empower students by helping them develop, regain, or enhance their ability to perform daily tasks, ultimately fostering greater independence and overall well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' physical, cognitive, sensory, and emotional abilities and limitations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's unique needs, objectives, capabilities, and preferences.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions, including exercises, activities, and adaptive tools, to promote functional independence and enhance quality of life.
  • Provide hands-on therapy and guidance to students, focusing on improving motor skills, coordination, strength, balance, and range of motion.
  • Educate students, families, and caregivers on strategies to enhance independence and integrate therapy goals into daily life.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for OT licensure.
  • Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology, along with knowledge of various physical, cognitive, and emotional conditions and their effects on daily functioning.
  • Demonstrated experience in evaluating, planning, and executing occupational therapy interventions.
  • Empathetic, patient, and attentive to the unique needs and challenges of individuals receiving OT services.
