Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class A CDL Driver to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for delivering and unloading food and food-related products to our customers in a safe and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers.
  • Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally to ensure accurate and timely responses to questions and concerns.
  • Perform all required safety checks, including pre/post trip inspections, to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards.
  • Report all safety issues and/or repairs required to ensure the safe operation of our vehicles and equipment.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies to ensure a safe and efficient delivery process.
  • Inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight, and perform count checks of items and customer invoices to ensure accurate delivery.
  • Complete all required paperwork associated with freight, including damage control checks and customer signatures.
  • Unload products from the trailer, transport items into designated customer storage areas, and perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements:
  • 12+ months commercial driving experience
  • High school diploma/GED or state-approved equivalent
  • Valid CDL A
  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
  • Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card
