Physical Therapist

UPMC Life Changing Medicine is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team. As a Staff Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for reviewing patient charts, performing initial assessments, developing treatment plans, and administering physical therapy treatments and modalities. You will work closely with patients, healthcare team members, and other professionals to achieve medical and therapeutic goals.
Responsibilities- Communicate patient status to referring physicians and other healthcare team members.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including goals and treatment modalities, in accordance with physician referrals and patient needs.
- Supervise physical therapist assistants in the treatment of patients, ensuring high-quality care and adherence to department standards.
- Rotate through treatment areas as needed to facilitate organizational needs.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service education programs.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient services, including initial assessments, follow-up visits, and discharge summaries.
- Provide verbal and written instructions to patients and family members as needed.
- Schedule patients to meet productivity standards while ensuring quality patient care.
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
- Active license to practice physical therapy in the state of employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Physical Therapist (PT) certification.
