We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Librarian to join our team at the City of Livonia, MI. As a key member of our Civic Center Library, you will be responsible for providing exceptional library services to our community.

• Provide professional library services to patrons, including general reference work, readers' advisory service, and use of audio-visual materials.
• Assist patrons in the use of the library, including electronic library services such as CD-ROM, library catalog, and Internet searches.
• Supervise a small staff of clerical and paraprofessional employees, as needed.

• Citizen of the United States or a resident alien with the right to work in the United States.
• Possess a Master's Degree in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited university, or be a current student with nine (9) credit hours in a Masters of Library Science curriculum at an American library Association accredited university.

• Knowledge of library services and reference materials, including books and authors, professional practices and techniques of library science.
• On-line library systems and information resources, and principles of training and supervision.

Temporary employees are not eligible for fringe benefits. The successful candidate will be required to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
