Position Overview:
The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for managing and documenting bid requests, acting as a project coordinator, and initiating projects as needed. This role will also involve handling service calls as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret bids, quotes, technical procedures, and regulatory documents at various governmental levels.
  • Draft reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Communicate effectively with personnel at all levels, as well as with vendors and their representatives.
  • Calculate material and labor costs, including applicable discounts, and interpret percentages, margins, and mark-ups.
  • Receive and log bid requests accurately.
  • Verify specifications or purchase requests to ensure compliance.
  • Assess the feasibility of responding to bids.
  • Compute pricing and margins for bids.
  • Prepare bid summaries for managerial review and approval prior to submission.
  • Generate reports on bid responses.
  • Conduct service calls as necessary.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Possession of a Journeyman's card.
  • 2-3 years of experience in electrical estimation.
  • Familiarity with estimating software is preferred.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and blueprints.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including basic algebra.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites for project reviews prior to estimation.
  • Capability to perform residential and light commercial service calls as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is desirable.
  • 5 years of experience in electrical or industrial construction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
  • Consistent attendance history.
