**Job Summary**

We are seeking a talented Research Engineer to join our Perception team. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with other engineers to develop algorithms that enable the autonomous vehicle to better understand its environment.

**Responsibilities**

  • Develop multi-modal multi-view multi-task end-to-end deep learning models to solve various perception objectives like object detection and tracking, lane segmentation, scene understanding, traffic light and traffic sign detection.
  • Take ownership of projects from ideation to deployment, ensuring all model development is efficient and operates in real-time.
  • Research and prototype novel solutions to tackle real-world problems in challenging scenarios.
  • Ensure all model development is rigorous, with well-designed experiments, suitable training and validation datasets, and evaluation on the right metrics.

**Requirements**

  • MS or PhD in CS, EE, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience.
  • Expertise with Python, with willingness to do some C++ development as needed.
  • Deep understanding of machine learning principles and methodologies.
  • Experience with implementing deep learning models in at least one deep learning framework (PyTorch, Tensorflow, Jax).

**Preferred Skills**

  • Relevant industry experience (prior work on self-driving vehicles, autonomy, computer vision, and/or robotics projects).
  • Past experiences in deep learning projects involving object detection, motion tracking, or semantic segmentation.
  • In-depth understanding of cutting-edge deep learning techniques and architectures like transformers, CNNs.
  • Expertise in machine learning or a related field demonstrated by patents or publications in relevant venues (CVPR, ICLR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, AAAI, SIGGRAPH).
  • Experience or familiarity with vision-language models is a plus.
