The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is looking for a dedicated part-time Researcher II to support the laboratory operations under the guidance of Dr. Michelle Gray. This role involves providing essential laboratory support for various molecular biology initiatives and overseeing the care and management of rodent populations.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Execute routine laboratory protocols to align with research objectives.
  • Gather, input, and analyze experimental data.
  • Monitor experimental outcomes and communicate any anomalies.

Key Duties:

  • Manage animal colonies, including tasks such as weaning and genotyping.
  • Conduct analysis of brain structure in postmortem samples.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.

Compensation: Hourly Salary Range: $23.51

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • OR Associate's degree in a related field with two years of pertinent experience.
  • OR High School diploma or GED with four years of applicable experience.

Note: Work experience cannot substitute for the educational requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in handling rodent models.

Work Environment: Onsite, Day/1st Shift
