Job Title: Conveyor Mechanic

At Kinder Morgan, we are seeking a skilled Conveyor Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a variety of material bulk handling equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair electrical control functions, system logic, and mechanical failure issues involving conveyor operation.
  • Assist in the transportation and movement of mechanical bulk handling equipment.
  • Assemble and install equipment such as drive motors, conveyors, and pulley assemblies.
  • Perform certified stick welding and/or cutting torch operations as needed.
  • Align machines and equipment for proper operation.
  • Repair and lubricate material bulk handling machines and equipment.
  • Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices on equipment, and make adjustments.
  • Operate a variety of equipment such as cutting torch, welder, forklift, hand tools, and electric meters.
  • Lubricate moving parts, examine, and operate repaired equipment to verify equipment conformance to specifications.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of previous successful or experience industrial maintenance is required.
  • Able to work at different work locations when needed.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally.
  • Must work shift schedule as assigned and overtime with little to no notice during the week, weekends, holiday, etc. as needed for operational needs.
  • Must be able to perform shift work, rotating day/night.
  • You will be subject to the on-call schedule and must respond to emergency call-outs as scheduled.
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:
  • 2-5 years of experience with Heavy Equipment, Conveying Equipment, and material handling systems.
