Occupational Therapist Job Description

Vertis Therapy is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team at our beautiful Assisted Living Facility in Clarksdale, MS. As a therapist-owned and operated company, we focus on providing quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and treat patients in accordance with physician orders, using therapeutic procedures to address deficits in self-care skills and daily living abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including achievable functional goals, and revise as needed throughout the treatment process.
  • Conduct thorough functional assessments of patients, including home and vocational needs, and document progress in the patient record.
  • Work with nursing staff, patients, and families to maximize patient use of functional abilities and instruct Assistants in treatment procedures.
  • Participate in rehabilitation team conferences and quality improvement processes, and maintain current knowledge of community resources.
Requirements:
  • Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy or Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy and five years of direct practice experience.
  • Current license/certification in the state of practice.
  • Prefer current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adequate computer skills to complete required job duties and computerized documentation.
