QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferred: High School Diploma or Graduate Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.).
- Experience in Culinary Services is advantageous.
- Effective communication skills to comprehend and execute instructions independently.
- Supports the provision of services to patients and staff. Ensures a hygienic and orderly environment by adhering to all protocols for cleaning dishes, pots, and pans. Responsibilities include the movement and collection of food carts and maintaining the kitchen and dining areas.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to six hours.
- Lifting weights ranging from 1-11 pounds consistently, with occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
- Frequent pushing and pulling of weights between 21-50 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds.
- Regular bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
- Continuous grasping with both hands, with occasional fine manipulation using one hand.
- Problem Solving - Tasks are structured and rely on basic sequencing. Understanding the purpose of tasks is not necessary. Environmental cues and reminders can be utilized, and gross attention is sufficient to complete tasks. Written communication involves copying and symbols, while verbal communication may rely on non-verbal or gestural methods.
- Work occurs indoors in conditions that may be wet, humid, and subject to significant temperature variations. The environment may be noisy with various odors and potential hazards, including greasy surfaces. Collaboration with others in crowded spaces and the need for quick responses are common, along with a flexible schedule.
- Clears and sanitizes dishes from food carts.
- Handles and stores clean dishes and service items appropriately.
- Assists in various kitchen areas as needed.
- Delivers call backs to units during meal times.
- Cleans and sanitizes pots, pans, and utensils according to established protocols.
- Transports food carts to and from patient units.
- Maintains sanitation and food safety standards within the department.
- Wipes down tables and work areas as assigned.
- Disposes of trash appropriately.
- Cleans floors and walls as required.
- Maintains cleanliness of departmental equipment.
- Adheres to regulatory guidelines for the safe handling of food, dishware, and cleaning chemicals.
