Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Welder and Fabricator to join our team. As a key member of our fabrication team, you will be responsible for cutting and joining metals and other materials at our facilities or construction sites, using a range of equipment and techniques.
Key Responsibilities- Blueprint Reading and Planning: Explore and follow blueprints and drawings, taking precise measurements to plan layout and procedures.
- Equipment Preparation: Prepare the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Component Preparation: Prepare components for welding according to specifications, using powered saws to match measurements when cutting material.
- Welding and Repair: Use angle grinders to prepare parts for welding, and manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions to weld components, repairing machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
- Inspection and Quality Control: Check welded surfaces and structures for flaws by testing and inspecting them, ensuring high-quality results.
- Equipment Maintenance: Keep your equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety, adhering to strict maintenance protocols.
- Travel Requirements: Travel is required (75%+) to various locations, ensuring timely completion of projects.
- 3 years' experience as a Welder using Flux Core (FCAW) and Stick (SMAW); Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) a plus.
- 2 years' experience in Tank Welding in the field in an uncontrolled industrial environment.
- 2G/3G certification is required. 4G certification is a plus.
- TWIC Card.
- Solid experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures, such as Flux Core and Stick, able to use the automatic welding equipment.
- Experience with cutting torch and arc gouging.
- Solid experience using electrical or manual tools, such as saws, squares, calipers, and so on.
- Must meet all criteria for a Class B Welder.
- Excellent knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing, such as face-shield and gloves.
- Good ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Agility, professionalism, and close attention to detail.
- Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is required.
- Professional Certification, such as AWS welding certificate, will be a bonus.
