Job Title: Radiation Therapist

Location: Kent Campus Hospital

Status: Full Time 80 Hours

Shift: Days

SALARY RANGE: 37.78 - 61.75 HOURLY

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Bayhealth. As a Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with Radiation Oncologists' prescriptions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Verify patient treatment schedules and ensure accurate charges are entered into the hospital information system.
  2. Apply ionizing radiation to patients following Radiation Oncologists' prescriptions and perform daily equipment warm-up and quality assurance checks.
  3. Review patient EMRs for diagnosis, prescription, and treatment parameters, and verify patient set-up by taking required initial and weekly portal films.
  4. Follow Radiation Oncologists' prescriptions and notify Physics for upcoming conedowns and boost planning.
  5. Verify documentation in the EMR system for every patient under treatment before delivering each treatment.
  6. Maintain treatment machine schedules and nursing schedules for weekly treatment visits and patients receiving pre-treatment medications.
  7. Simulate patients using a CT-Simulator following Radiation Oncologists' prescriptions.
  8. Perform daily equipment warm-up and quality assurance checks following departmental policies.
  9. Complete all other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.

Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

  • Education: Certificate Program Radiologic Technology
  • Credential(s): Radiation Therapist; Basic Life Support; Registered Technologist, Radiography
  • Experience: None Required
