Overview

Chief of Colorectal Surgery Opportunity

Catholic Health Initiatives seeks a visionary leader to serve as the Chief of Colorectal Surgery and drive growth in clinical, research, and educational activities within the Department of Surgery and its Division of Colorectal Surgery.

The successful candidate will join a high-volume group with a wide breadth of colorectal surgical cases, working in a large established referral base within the Department of Surgery, Primary Care, and growing GI services within a large integrated healthcare system.

The opportunity is ripe for a leader to expand colorectal surgery in all its domains, partnering with outstanding colleagues and forward-thinking academic and business leadership. Key areas of focus include rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, pelvic health, and colorectal surgery quality.

The Department of Surgery at Creighton University Medical Center and CHI Health is one of the nation's highest quality, award-winning programs, part of an integrated, multispecialty system working with every member in subspecialty surgery, committed to the highest outcomes of every procedure performed.

The Division of Colorectal Surgery is an active participant in the Colon and Rectum fellowship, and resident activity with the department of surgery is highly engaging at our academic flagship University Medical Center and Level I Trauma Center.

Candidates are expected to have a fellowship in colorectal surgery and a track record of scholarly and educational activities at the level of Associate to Professor at Creighton University School of Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients with colorectal conditions.
  • Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Stay informed about healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Board certification in a specified area of medical specialty.
  • A valid and unrestricted state medical license or license-eligible.
