About the Job

The Fargo VA Health Care System is seeking a full-time Mental Health Counselor for the Mental Health Integrated Care Community Service. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose mental disorders and conduct psychological assessments.
  • Provide comprehensive, evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions, including individual, family, and psychoeducational groups.
  • Consult with professional staff within the Fargo VA and community providers on clinical assessment findings and treatment plans.
  • Develop, implement, and document treatment plans for assigned patients.
  • Function independently as a member of the Fargo VA Medical Staff, with full clinical privileges.
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in psychology from an accredited program.
  • Successful completion of a professional psychology internship training program.
  • Full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level.
  • English language proficiency.
Benefits

This position provides 51% or more direct patient care and is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Telework: Available (1-2 days/bi-weekly pay period). Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
