We are seeking an experienced diesel mechanic to join our team at Ryder in Ennis, Texas. As a diesel mechanic, you will be responsible for performing vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance and diagnosing mechanical and electronic problems.
Key Responsibilities- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance and diagnosing mechanical and electronic problems.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic issues with heavy-duty vehicles.
- Perform standard component inspections and repairs, and replace defective components as instructed.
- Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of their complaint and provide solutions.
- Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines, including safety and regulatory requirements.
- Competitive hourly pay rate of $25.95 per hour.
- Opportunity to earn a certification bonus of up to $700 for each new ASE certification obtained.
- Quarterly bonus of up to $500 every quarter.
- Sign-on bonus of $1500 at 30 days and $1500 at 90 days.

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Vocational or technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred.
- Basic tools required.
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
- Two years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience preferred.
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.
- Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
- Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, and Ryder road test.
- Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
