Perfusion Specialist

As a Perfusion Specialist at TriHealth, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and successful outcome of open heart surgery and other cardiovascular procedures. Your expertise in operating the Heart Lung Machine and other cardiovascular life support equipment will be essential in maintaining the patient's hemodynamic and physiologic parameters within acceptable limits.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate the Heart Lung Machine and other cardiovascular life support equipment to maintain patient stability during surgery.
- Monitor and adjust parameters such as blood gas analysis, activated clotting times, and glucose monitoring to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with the surgical and anesthesiology teams to optimize patient conditions during and after surgery.
- Provide auto transfusion services and support to all surgical specialties throughout TriHealth.
- Bachelor's Degree in Perfusion or graduate of an ABCP recognized Perfusion Program.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification.
- CCP Certification in Cardiovascular Perfusion by ABCP or eligible.
- Knowledge of special procedures such as heart bypass, circulatory arrest, and cerebral perfusion.
This role requires frequent standing, walking, and lifting of equipment. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions is essential.
