Role Responsibilities:
The Dietitian PRN is responsible for delivering nutritional guidance and care to designated patient groups. Key duties include:
  1. Evaluating patients for nutritional risks and assessing their dietary needs.
  2. Creating personalized care plans based on individual health conditions and nutritional requirements.
  3. Monitoring patient progress through follow-up assessments and consultations.
  4. Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  5. Documenting relevant patient information and care plans accurately.
  6. Providing education and counseling to patients and their families regarding nutritional therapy.
  7. Conducting educational sessions and developing materials that align with current best practices.
  8. Prioritizing patient care activities and suggesting improvements to clinical protocols.
  9. Serving as a resource for other healthcare staff and community groups on nutrition-related topics.
  10. Engaging in research and professional development to enhance knowledge in the field of nutrition.
  11. Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Food and Nutrition from an accredited institution.
  • One year of relevant experience in a clinical setting through an accredited program.
Required Licensure/Certification:
  • Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (or eligible for registration with completion within 90 days).
  • Licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Dietitians within 6 months of employment.
