Job Summary:

The Obstetrics Student Nurse Tech will work under the supervision of a registered professional nurse to provide direct patient care and support to patients and families in the obstetrics department. This role requires completion of a foundational nursing skills course or equivalent and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist nurses with patient and family education
  • Document all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology
  • Act as a 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary
  • Ensure availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs
  • Implement direct patient care under the supervision of the nursing team
  • Collect clinical data and information on patients and report abnormal findings to the nurse
  • Instruct patients in preparations for tests and procedures
Requirements:
  • Enrolled in an accredited RN program
  • No experience required
  • Preferred: Enrolled in an accredited BSN program
