Education and Experience: Previous experience in manufacturing is preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in setting up and operating production machinery while adhering to quality and efficiency standards post-training.
  • Ability to interpret and explain technical blueprints.
  • Skilled in manual measurement interpretation and process adjustments to ensure dimensional and visual accuracy.
  • Strong mathematical abilities and familiarity with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
  • Basic computer literacy and writing skills.
  • Capable of visually inspecting components to meet company aesthetic criteria.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs safely, and stand or bend for extended periods while performing manual tasks, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Work Schedule: Full-time.
  • Personal Attributes: Excellent communication skills, a positive attitude towards teamwork and safety, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions or work autonomously while managing multiple tasks and troubleshooting.
  • Punctuality and adherence to safe work practices are essential.

Responsibilities and Authority:

Accountable for utilizing provided tools, job setup sheets, and current part prints to establish tooling and machine setups that yield parts produced safely, efficiently, and consistently to meet or exceed customer expectations. Responsible for manufacturing parts according to job specifications and driving company forklifts if trained. Ensure quality workmanship that meets or surpasses customer standards.

Key Duties:

  • Prioritize safety and eliminate hazardous conditions by following company safety protocols.
  • Operate various fabrication machinery and hand tools as trained, including:
    • Drill press operation.
    • Deburring machinery operation, including hand and power tools to remove sharp edges and shape parts as per specifications.
    • Rivet installation according to specifications for part assembly.
    • Hardware insertion equipment operation, if trained.
    • Rolling machine operation, if trained.
    • Efficiently shake and break out parts from nests, adhering to safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
    • Shear operation, as trained.
    • CNC equipment operation, if trained and under supervision.
  • Adhere to all company policies as outlined in the employee handbook and other documentation.
  • Ensure the highest quality standards are maintained in all work performed.
  • Meet required deadlines while executing the above responsibilities.
  • Follow ISO/AS quality systems and safety procedures diligently.
  • Ensure all necessary tools for job completion are available.
  • Set up and run all jobs as outlined.
  • Work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on fabrication equipment and tooling, if trained.
  • Maintain effective departmental communication.
  • Conduct audits of completed work to ensure the highest quality standards are upheld.
  • Arrive punctually and be willing to work overtime as needed.
  • Accurately maintain the MES system as instructed.
  • Assist in the monthly inventory process.
  • Keep the work area neat and organized.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
