Position Overview:

Title: ASME Authorized Inspector / Trainee

Location: Federalsburg, MD Shift: 1st shift

Compensation: $34 - $36.5/hour + OT (based on experience) Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, Life and Disability Insurance, along with generous PTO.

Role Responsibilities:

As an Authorized Inspector, you will be tasked with traveling to client locations to deliver ASME/NB shop and field inspection services. Your duties will include:

  • Evaluating and confirming the implementation of the manufacturer’s quality control system and inspection specifications.
  • Monitoring client quality control systems to ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Documenting inspection activities in accordance with established policies.
  • Ensuring adherence to applicable sections of the ASME Code, National Board, and jurisdictional requirements related to fabrication activities and authorized inspection services.

Training Requirements:

Before assuming the role of Authorized Inspector, candidates must complete a training period, which includes attending a comprehensive 2-week American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)/National Board training and certification program.

Desired Qualifications:

  • High school diploma (REQUIRED) or equivalent military experience, or a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in boiler and/or high-pressure steam and water system maintenance and operation.
  • 4+ years of mechanical experience with Boilers and Pressure Vessels in a power generation setting.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance inspections of mechanical equipment, water, and steam systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications (REQUIRED).
