Gravel Tester

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Gravel Tester to join our team at Shumaker Trucking & Excavating Contractors, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting tests and analyzing samples of aggregate materials to ensure they meet the required standards.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct sieve analysis, Atterberg limits, and other tests as required to determine the physical properties of aggregate materials.
• Collect and prepare samples for testing, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
• Record and report test results, including any deviations from standard specifications.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field (e.g., geology, materials science) preferred.
• MSHA certification required; training will be provided.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver's license required.

Working Conditions:

The Gravel Tester will work in a laboratory setting, with occasional travel to construction sites. The position requires the ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
