Heavy Equipment Maintenance Specialist

**About the Job:**
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Lead to join our team at US Foods, Inc. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet vehicles by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining diesel equipment.
**Salary:** $32 per hour, plus a $10,000 retention bonus, making the estimated annual salary approximately $67,360, with additional benefits such as an annual tool allowance and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
**Job Description:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, and other heavy equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance within company standards to ensure optimal vehicle performance and compliance with regulations.
- Complete accurate documentation of repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability in a timely manner.
- Handle road service calls, perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed, and maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with workplace safety rules and regulations.
- Backup other maintenance shop personnel as required and assume increased responsibility and certifications over time.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
- 3 years of commercial Diesel mechanic or reefer experience, or 2 years of Diesel Mechanic exp with TK or Refrigeration certification.
- Proven ability to successfully demonstrate independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience in administering appropriate PM programs and knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with coworkers and drivers.
- Able to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
