Recycling Sorter

PeopleReady is seeking a Recycling Sorter to join our team in Wilkesboro, NC.

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented individual to sort and clean materials in our recycling yard. As a Recycling Sorter, you will be responsible for sorting and cleaning materials into appropriate containers for recycling, cleaning recycling yard equipment, and maintaining recycling collection equipment.

• Sort and clean materials into appropriate containers for recycling
• Clean recycling yard equipment and maintain recycling collection equipment
• Remove chemicals from discarded appliances
• Deposit recoverable materials into chutes or place materials on conveyor belts
• Operate balers to compress recyclable materials into bundles or bales
• Operate machines to load items onto trucks for shipping to other recycled materials processing facilities

• Prior experience in recycling yard preferred
• Able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, and reach, bend, push, pull, and climb
• Flexibility to work in all weather conditions
• Able to remain in a stationary position for up to 10 hours

The pay rate for this job is $15.50 / hour.
