Critical Care Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at Northwell Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with the healthcare team, and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to ensure optimal outcomes
- Collect and organize patient data, examining patients to determine their physical status, and identifying and recording their physical, psycho-social condition
- Formulate care plans, collaborating with the healthcare team, and identifying patient educational needs and coping mechanisms
- Deliver care that communicates the worth and dignity of patients, adapting nursing procedures to meet individual needs, and involving patients and families in the care when therapeutic
- Administer medications and treatments according to established policies and procedures, observing behavioral and physiological changes, and taking appropriate action
- Use good medical and surgical asepsis in delivery of care, demonstrating skill using equipment necessary to deliver patient care, and protecting patients from environmental hazards
- Evaluate patient progress, using current data to measure progress toward goal achievement, and initiating nursing actions if patients fail to progress toward pre-set goals
- Document patient care, writing admission notes, recording patient data on the Nursing Care Plan, and writing Nurse's Notes demonstrating progress or lack of progress toward patient goals
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
- BSN required, ACLS/BLS required, and TCAR required within 1 year
- 3 years ICU experience required
