Nursing Professional Development Practitioner

Penn State Health is seeking a skilled Nursing Professional Development Practitioner to support the quality of care provided to patients by the Department of Nursing staff. This role will focus on optimal orientation programs, ongoing evaluation of competence, and support of lifelong learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective orientation programs for new nursing staff
  • Evaluate the competence of nursing staff and provide feedback for improvement
  • Support the development of nursing staff through mentorship and coaching
  • Identify outcomes of educational interventions and make data-driven decisions

Requirements:

  • MSN or intent to complete MSN within three years of hire
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
  • Three years of nursing experience
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Nursing Professional Development Certification or specialty certification
