Behavioral Health Nurse

As a Registered Nurse with YesCare, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a correctional setting. To be eligible for this role, you must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and hold a current valid state license for Registered Nurse. Additionally, you must possess an active CPR certification and remain knowledgeable about specific state laws and regulations governing practice.
Responsibilities:
As a Registered Nurse with YesCare, your primary responsibilities will include responding to and initiating care for medical emergencies throughout the facility. This will involve performing continuous CPR until properly relieved. You will also be responsible for administering and documenting medications on the Medication Administration Record, as well as documenting all nursing care provided. Furthermore, you will perform histories and physicals on inmates, assess patient health status, and refer to appropriate level of healthcare provider. You will physically assist Physician in patient examinations and treatments, implement and follow up on Physician / Dentist verbal and written orders, and teach healthcare information to patients and correctional staff. You will also collect samples, specimens, and cultures per Physician orders, adhere to safety and security policies, and participate in disaster drills. Additionally, you will follow security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications, adhere to Universal Precautions and other appropriate infection control practices, perform venipuncture and I.V. therapy, and follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Other duties as assigned by management.
