Job Overview

Golden West Food Group is seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to lead our production team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective production of our high-quality food products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate shift operations, including hourly production group leaders.
  • Maintain a high standard of employee relations to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
  • Provide training and counsel employees as needed.
  • Recognize and reward employees for their contributions and achievements.
  • Initiate and maintain required safety and ergonomic programs to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure employee safety training and assist in the identification and correction of safety hazards and ergonomic issues.
  • Maintain desired product quality and safety.
  • Ensure all staff and employees understand HACCP and SSOP documents.
  • Maintain product failures and foreign material issues.
  • Guide group leaders in safety, food safety, quality, process control, personnel practices, efficient operations, employee development, and employee retention goals.
  • Maintain or exceed goals on yields and efficiencies.
  • Ensure all operating procedures are followed and correct or update as needed.
  • Assure that all specs are followed with no change until yield update, labor analysis, and cost analysis have been studied.
  • Maintain a continuous effort for improvement and seek ways to improve.
  • Initiate and modify as necessary a cost control program to assist the company in remaining competitive.
  • Develop and manage a system to track direct and indirect labor, inedible product, and film and bag costs to reduce costs below budget.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 5+ years' relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years' experience in a position of leadership, including team development and management, required.
  • Manufacturing knowledge and understanding of yields, plant efficiencies, and operations procedures.
  • Knowledge of OSHA Standards and USDA and HACCP regulations.
  • Ability to lead a diverse work force.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal with the ability to transfer knowledge to others.
  • Lean Six Sigma training, preferred.
  • Experience with ERP software, a plus.
